Care instructions - Solid Brass sinks and fittings

RAW BRASS SINKS & FITTINGS

Raw brass products are known to have natural anti-bacterial properties which bring health benefits to your food preparation by removing toxins from your kitchen. Raw brass is living material which will age and patinate in time, depending on its environment and level of care. The process of oxidisation is influenced by exposure to water and dampness in the air and will result in the sinks and fittings gradually getting darker. Both virgin and pre-patinated finish can also get altered if corrosive foodstuffs, for instance sliced lemon, are left in the sink. This process can be slowed down by regular daily care and use of wax sprays like Aristowax Non-silicone Woodsilk. Please note that our pre-patinated raw brass products are supplied pre-waxed with special coating to help slow down the colour change.

DAILY CLEANING

The raw brass products should be wiped down with wet cloth after each use, any food residue should be removed without using abrasive materials or chemicals, and finished off by drying the surface with soft cloth. Leaving corrosive foodstuffs on the sink surface can alter its appearance.

PERIODIC CARE
Raw brass surfaces can be sprayed with non-silicone wax such as Aristowax Woodsilk.

LACQUERED BRASS FITTINGS
Lacquered brass products are made of solid brass and its surfaces protected by clear electrophoretic lacquer and cured in industrial oven, which enables retention of original colour subject to appropriate care.
